The store uses a first-party session cookie called bo_session to connect your browser with its shopping bag, sign-in session and request-security controls. Its normal maximum lifetime is seven days and it may be replaced when you sign in or out. The value is an identifier rather than your password or payment credentials. Blocking it can prevent account and checkout functions from working.
2. Your currency preference
When you choose a currency, bo_currency stores that choice for up to one year so prices can be displayed consistently on later visits. It does not store card or bank information. You can change the currency in the footer or clear this preference using your browser’s site-data controls.
3. Installed app and offline storage
If your browser supports the Brooks & Oaks web app, a service worker stores a small set of public icons and the generic offline screen on your device. The app does not cache account pages, order details, checkout responses or payment pages for offline browsing. Shopping and account changes require a network connection. Browser storage can remain until an app update removes it or you clear the site data. Uninstalling a shortcut may not clear every browser cookie.
4. Payment providers and optional tracking
Your selected payment provider may use its own cookies or similar security technologies during checkout under its own notice. Optional visitor analytics starts only after you allow analytics in our privacy controls. The current analytics notice below describes the enabled services, data and retention. Use Privacy choices in the footer to change your preference. Installing the app or accepting sales terms is not consent to optional analytics or advertising tracking.
5. Managing your choices
Use your browser’s privacy settings to view, block or delete cookies and stored site data. Clearing essential data may sign you out, reset your currency and empty the browser’s shopping bag. Settings on one browser or device do not necessarily apply to another. For questions, contact care@brooksandoaks.com and see our Privacy policy.

Optional analytics starts only after you choose “Allow analytics”. We use it to understand traffic, improve the store and measure shopping activity. You may choose “Essential only” without affecting shopping and change your choice through “Privacy choices” in the footer.
When allowed, our analytics records a random browser identifier, visited page paths, visit dates and times, approximate country and city, device and browser type, referrer domain, campaign labels, active time and shopping events. We do not record typed messages, passwords, card details or screen recordings. URLs are reduced to page paths; private order and account links are normalised.
Full IP addresses are encrypted and retained for up to 7 days, then erased. They are masked in reports and may be revealed only by an administrator; that access is logged. Our visit records expire after 90 days. Approximate IP location may be wrong for mobile networks, VPNs or shared connections. External IP location lookup is currently disabled.
Google Analytics 4 is enabled for visitors who allow analytics. Google processes its analytics data under its own terms and retention settings. This module does not send custom IP addresses, account identity or form contents to Google; advertising consent remains denied. Browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals disable optional analytics.
The essential consent preference cookie (bo_analytics_consent) lasts up to 180 days. After consent, bo_analytics_session in local storage groups activity into visits, renewing after 30 minutes of inactivity. bo_analytics_purchases avoids repeat purchase events in the browser for up to 30 days. Google may set its own analytics cookies after consent. Withdrawing consent clears our browser analytics identifiers and Google analytics cookies on this site, stops future collection, and removes stored full IP addresses for that browser; existing visit records expire under the retention period. The preference-change marker contains only a timestamp to synchronise browser tabs.
To request deletion of retained analytics, contact care@brooksandoaks.com. If your browser still has the analytics preference cookie, the support team may use your browser’s visitor reference to locate its records. Customer accounts and order records have their own retention purposes described above.

YOUR EXPERIENCE, YOUR CHOICE
A little care for your privacy.
Essential cookies keep your bag and account working. With your permission, we also measure visits, approximate location and shopping activity to improve your experience.
